aidsafe can store the patient’s spectacles, hearing aids, dentures and any other bits and bobs which need to be kept safe during the patients stay in hospital. It is not suitable for valuable items, such as mobile telephones and jewellery. These should be taken away from the hospital as soon as possible. Naturally, jewellery and mobile phones will fit in the bits and bobs section temporarily, when first admitted through A&E or by ambulance but please note that they should be removed ASAP.
aidsafe is not designed to be re-used. It is for one patient use only, for the duration of their stay in hospital. Due to the items it stores, cross contamination could occur if shared. aidsafe is biodegradable and recyclable. Patients can take the box away to use or recycle at home or the hospital will recycle in their paper waste.
